LV road trip - for Christmas

Having Xmas in LV is much fun than staying at hm(shops close early on eve n Xmas), so we goin a 4day hoilday trip, driving up to 10hrs to destination. But it was snowing heavily as we started off, so we kept to the safe route(goin a long roundabout; add another 2hrs to trip)this is our road trip for LV
meandering our road through the curves, pastures n mountains, finally we saw a signboard that indicate we r reaching soon. Sun is setting as we reached our hotel, nice capture of scene. C our hotel!! Strashopere look like space needle indeed.

Dinner is done in Chinatown. Crowded as usual in parking n queue in eateries. we had roasted meat(pork, chicken n duck) n dumpling noodles soup. next we go Paris hotel as i wan to c the nite view of LV.

This time round, we explore the casinos out the strip.Hard Rock Cafe hotel n casino

i lve this couple bears!!

Hey, its kinda of cool design of the heater for ppl waiting outside.
Next morn, we went to take a pict of the iconic signboard of LV(near Mandalay Bay).

Inside the hotel is this ginerbread village for Christmas decro. the whole place smell veri heavnly bakery aroma. As u can c, they r raising funds of donations on the property of this 'village'. After this, im goin for shopping. Alot of new shops opened since i last came n outlets too.

wan to try this recipe

Steamed Pork Ribs is a dish in DimSum but i dun order it cos ribs are too boney n common. But now, i feel like eating it.

Ingredients:
1/2 lb soft bone pork ribs - cut into bite-size, 1 tbsp black bean, 2 cloves minced garlic, 1 tbsp minced ginger, A pinch of corn/tapioca starch
Seasoning:
1 tbsp light soya sauce, 1/2 tsp sugar, 1/4 tsp white pepper, 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine, 1 tbsp sesame oil

Method: Marinate pork ribs with salted black beans, garlic, ginger and seasonings. Leave for 10mins. Add in starch.(pork ribs should be fairly moist with sauce after steaming and too much will tends to dry up the dish) Leave this aside while you cook rice in the rice cooker. Watch out for the rice to loose the big bubbles before it turn to 'warm' function, put in the prepared pork ribs to steam. Alternatively steam prepared pork ribs over rapidly boiling water for 7-8mins.
Sprinkle with sesame oil while serving hot. I like them with Goji berries n some cut small chillies /salty plums, tomatoes. Easy too cook n make a prefect dish.

Getting fat here is easy!!

ppl say u tend to eat mre when temp/weather is cold. As for me, i like junk food, so i stock up alot. Icecreams; lots of variety eg Ben n Jerry / Hazgen can be as cheap as USD 2 dollars. Chips, i lve that!! wat is large pack compared to their jumbo one(family size). I find abit gross of eating too much. there's even got lot of microwave food n pastry, popcorn etc. i dun reali like their cakes /cookies cos they tend to have too much icing on top n they r hard(i think due to high attitudes).

JUNK FOOD IS CHEAP HERE!!!

lately, i hit upon a hsewife blog, very interesting n informative in her own recipe. I like Daifuku (which means great luck) is a Japanese sweet treat made of glutinous rice like mochi. For daifuku, it's filled with anko(jap red-bean paste). Most common colours are white, pale green /pink. Daifuku is usually covered in a fine layer of corn /taro starch to keep them from sticking to each other /fingers as you eat them. Some are covered with confectioner's sugar or cocoa.she made it with a filling of whole fresh strawberry covered in anko.

snow

I stay in ulu place, temp tend to get freaking cold at certain periods + strong winds. Now is winter season, So it snows when temp drop veri low. Today, its snow almost for a whole day. bbrr... frreezzing cold!.. the moment I open my door, the blast of icy air hit me. we need to put salt infont of my door yard, pavement n garage, so that the snow wont build up.
c hw thick my jacket is(2 layers, outer layer waterproof; bulky) n my hands r numb within afew mins in open. I need to fully 'armoured' b4 i could step out my hse n lots lots of 'preparations' for the dry climate; especially on my face n hands (prevent wrinkles, dry up). Ice is dangerous on road as u can easily skid.
I dislike this season as it easily depress me, N STATIC. HANds OFF!!!
wonder when the snow goin to dry up.

i miss hmm... ..

reviews of food places we ate recently

Cheesecake factory / old spatt factory; these places u got to give yr money to run the cosy ambiance environment u r to dine in. Nice for couples especially, both i like simply becos i like cheesecake n pasta hehhaha. old spatt is much mre cheaper than cheesecake
Old Chicago is ..mmm... nt bad but do avoid goin during meal times; kind of hectic n messy.
Joe's crab, abit like hooters hehhaha (nt reali my style of liking, hehhaha) entertaining environment but cos we nt seafood lovers + food tend to be salty(must be cooked in seawater). our satisfactory is low for that.
In-n-out burger http://www.in-n-out.com/default.asp
still remains top in out list for fastfood burgers(mainly they r fresh ingredients)
n Five guys http://www.fiveguys.com/menu.aspx
seconds!!! for me, think it lose in its burger buns but they still soft yummy. ok too full after eating it.. cos the burger comes in double portion of beef. Burger King gotta to HANds down, so do Big Mac out! There is a constant stream of crowd coming but still ok unlike In-n -out is so much crowded. here is no meal available (In-n out got basic 3 meals)but yr burger got free variety of toppings. ya.. u got it guys, u can customized yr Burger to yr liking n tell yr cashier.
