Road trip - first stop Seattle

My hubby n i decided to have a short road trip this mth end, so we goin for Seattle-Vancouver-Portland. Portland is mainly for shopping as we leave it for our last stop wheresle Vancouver, Canada is a short dist further up Seattle(although it another country just like goin throu SG-JB custom). So we began our 8hrs drive to Seattle from our state.

Now is rainy season (oct-apr). Traffic is damn heavy in downtown (abit confusing too) + parking is ex. So we intend to take metro as it is free as long in downtown area (6am-7pm). our hotel is located near dwntown, cos Seattle is a small city (most attractions situated here).
Space Needle; a distinctive structure, rising 600-plus feet above Seattle Center, become Seattle's most famous landmark. Built in 1962, no charge if dine in SkyCity restaurant which is afew storeys below. We bought one day ticket(offer 2 entries; day n nite views). Luckily, it wasnt raining tht day. Seattle is mainly built around the harbour, u can say that many livelihoods is depended on that.

below, u can c the well known sculptor park.

stories behind the space needle.

fabulous gift shop; i love all the things there. unique. another alter for space needle; smith tower(built in 1914, 42-story tower was the tallest b4 space needle built). Much cheaper, but since we had chosen space needle, it was discarded.
Next stop; EMP experience Music proj @ Seattle centre. then we took a Monorail retro $2 one way. This leads us to downtown of Seattle where we had a quick lunch n shopping. Wow.. i discovered i fall in love in Nordstrom rack.
Seattle's most famous landmarks, Pike Place Market is the oldest working public market in the country. There is live fish throwing performance whenever a transaction is made. Nt to forget Rachael, the pig. fresh grocery everywhere n lots of ppl too; veri livery. u c the seafood is so big.
STARBUCKS 1st store (hard to miss cos lots of ppl crowd there). Notice e sign is different from the usual logo ;)

Later, we took a walk along the Alaskan Waterfront. There is numerous fun-but-tacky tourist shops and views are spectacular.. Pier 59 Seattle aquarium is one of the attractions, like underwater world w the sight of lots of jelly fish n a huge octopus.
Metro is free as long in downtown area from 6am-7pm in Free Ride Area. We took a green Waterfront Shuttle to Chinatown.

After a wonderful dinner, we went to take a break @ this infamous Japanese supermarket, kinobuyia is found inside too. we spent abt some time there cos we both lve japnese things.

this is the loveliest sight of the nite scene capture the busy streets @ Seattle. There is a small casouel @ base of space needle. After that, we headed back to our hotel(nearby).
